One ring to rule them all

There are just 15 sleeps to go until The Wedding and my party preparations are shamefully behind schedule. In all honesty, it’s because I’ve been spending most of the time admiring this very special part of my costume.

Isn’t it a beauty? Even if I don’t get around to anything else, at least I’ll be able to gaze at it as I sip my Pimms in front of the TV on April 29. I think I got the last one in Australasia, but you can always try your luck here.

Are you doing anything to celebrate the royal nuptials? If you are, don’t forget to enter this month’s Forever Nigella challenge, which has a Street Party theme. Oooh, and nip over here for some free printable bits of party kit (with thanks to party organiser extraordinaire Emma of Frog, Goose and Bear for the tip!). And do let me know if you have the secret to un-soggy cucumber sandwiches…

I wasn't planning on doing anything special until earlier this afternoon. Some friends will be coming over, watch the coverage on the telly with plenty of foods and drinks to share. I'll be entering the post later for the Nigella challenge.
Thanks for the link for the printable party kits! 🙂
I always spread a good layer of cream cheese first to the bread before layering thin slices of cucumber. The cream cheese acts like a barrier. Hope this helps 🙂

Now I know you're truly certified!!! We're off to the pub all day for fine beer and good food. Landlady is planing to recreate the royal dinner for guests!!! Cant wait xx

Apparently if you salt the cucumber slices and let them sit for awhile before wiping away excess moisture it will prevent soggy sandwhich syndrome(as with grated courgette), however I have not actually tested this.

We are going to a very civilised garden party/champagne breakfast on Saturday morning.

Cut the cucumber in half lengthways and use a melon baller or teaspoon to scoop out the middle bit with all the seeds in. That's the soggiest bit so if it's gone, the sandwiches should be a bit less soggy 🙂

We've got the in-laws visiting that weekend, so no street party for us!
