This piece of ridiculous fabulousness reminds me that there’s just a month to go until THE wedding. We’re going to have a party to celebrate. Wanna come?

A song for pulling out the remains of the summer vegetable garden (rocket bound for outer space, leggy spinach, wilting tomatoes) and not getting depressed about the coming of autumn. How was your weekend?

We’ve just finished watching the last season of The Sopranos on DVD (about five years late). I think it says a lot about our life in recent months that we’ve been watch it to relax – mindless violence and random acts of thuggery aren’t usually my choice of relaxing wind-down viewing. I watched most of the last episode from behind a cushion, fearful of what was going to happen next. Pity you can’t go through real life in the same way, isn’t it? Now, what box set should we turn to next? And will it have as great a theme tune as this one?

Apologies for the unexplained absence last week. We are in the middle of some horribly traumatic family stuff at the moment so posts may be a little erratic for a bit. On a brighter note though, my beautiful niece got married on Saturday and this is what she walked down the aisle to (while her aunt wished she’d worn waterproof mascara). This is the kind of New Zealand we all want to think about right now -it might not even really exist any more, but it’s a happy fantasy in these horribly sad times (and a really fantastic song). Please keep the people of Christchurch in your thoughts x
